From a young age, both Tim and Jocelyn Doese were drawn to foreign missions. In 1994, at the age of 14, Jocelyn was already on her second missions trip to Mexico visiting Jerry and Susy McNally and their family, helping them prepare to open the Esperanza Viva Youth Home in Puebla. Tim was a children’s and worship pastor at an inner-city bilingual church in the Minneapolis area when he met and married Jocelyn in 2007. In 2014, along with their daughters, Estrella and Vega, and their son, Ezra, they visited Esperanza Viva and heard God calling them to step out in faith to serve as full-time missionaries in Mexico. Tim started as an area supervisor for the boys’ dorms and now heads up the sponsorship department, plays on the worship team, and also helps new long-term missionaries get established with Living Hope International. Tim and Jocelyn share a passion to see hearts redeemed and liberated by Christ, and that desire is evident when leading worship at Esperanza Viva and Nations Church. While being a full-time mom, Jocelyn also serves as the grade school English teacher at Nations School and helps with revision of the ministry’s publications.
